How it works

From the open material to a verifiable credential

  1. 01

    Study the open material

Every module is published under a Creative Commons license: text, labs and reading lists. Read it on this site or on GitHub.

  2. 02

Pass the Level 1 exam online

Fundamentals is a single online exam administered by the Foundation. No certificator is needed, and it is free during the first year.

  3. 03

    Go deeper with a certificator

Level 2 adds a proctored exam and a practical lab or case study, graded by an Authorized Certificator. Workshops are optional and offered by certificators.

  4. 04

    Receive a verifiable credential

Certifications are issued as verifiable credentials on the Verana Certification Ecosystem, to your wallet or to your organization's DID, and verifiable by anyone.

certificators

Authorized Certificators

Associate members of the Foundation, accredited every year, that deliver workshops, proctor exams, grade practical work and issue the certifications. They never certify their own organization or staff.

2 certificators listed.

policy

Rules, versions, marks

The Certification Policy sets the levels, the assessment rules, validity and renewal, the designations, certificator accreditation, the use of the Verana Certified marks, appeals and fees. Its digest is anchored as the governance framework of the Verana Certification Ecosystem.

Who writes the curriculum

The Showcase and Certification Working Group of the Foundation authors and reviews the modules, tracks and assessments, in the open. Question banks and grading rubrics stay confidential. Join the working group to contribute.
